Irene Kamara is Assistant Professor Cybercrime Law and Human Rights at the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society in The Netherlands, TTLF Fellow at Stanford University, and affiliate researcher at the VUB. Her research focuses on the role of private regulation in the protection of fundamental rights, and policy and legal responses to technology-facilitated online abuse. Irene is teaching cybercrime and cybersecurity law, legal aspects of standardization, and international personal data flows at master and bachelor programs. In 2021, the European Standardisation Organisations honoured Irene with the Standards & Innovation award for the category Individual Researcher.
