Sven works on the evolution of public governance and regulatory learning. His underlying interests include (i) research on human-centricity and co-creation, (ii) policy, especially digital transitions and public sector reforms; and (iii) the uptake of emerging technologies, such as virtual worlds and artificial intelligence. Since 2013, Sven is a scientific officer for the European Commission, where he is currently leading the research on digital governance and public service innovation - in accordance with the priorities and the strategy of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and its Directorate for Digital Transformation and Data.
