Etienne Drouard is one of the most prominent lawyers in France focusing on information technology, privacy and data protection matters. He is recognized by Chambers & Partners, Legal500 Europe and Lawyer of the Year 2024 as one of the top three specialists in France. Etienne started his career at CNIL (the French Data Protection Authority) in 1996 and joined private practice in 1999. He has notably worked as an expert with the European Commission on the drafting of the “ePrivacy Directive” and contributed to drafting and lobbying with the ""GDPR"", as well as with the IA Act until 2024. Etienne joined Hogan Lovells in February 2020 as partner in the Privacy and Cybersecurity practice in Paris, along with his team.
