Michiel Fierens is currently working as a PhD researcher at the Centre for IT & IP Law at KU Leuven. He researches the balance between data sharing and data protection in light of the use of semantic interoperability and the broader evolution on data sharing via Data Spaces. Previously, he worked as a researcher at the Centre for IT & IP Law in the field of cybersecurity & artificial intelligence and as legal counsel at KU Leuven Research & Development (LRD), where he assisted KU Leuven researchers who wanted to enter into research collaborations with companies with tailored advice.
