Claire Gayrel works as legal officer in the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) where she follows health and scientific research policy matters and digital ethics discussions. Before, she worked for 8 years as a privacy researcher at the CRIDS (Research Center in Information, Society and Law). She worked with international experts, in the field of privacy and data protection, working specifically on transborder data flows issues and studying numerous third countries’ data protection systems (India, Uruguay, USA et cet…). Claire Gayrel has also participated in several EU funded research projects (PARIS, P5) and has been a scientific expert for the Council of Europe regarding the modernization of convention 108 on the protection of personal data.
