Isabelle Vereecken is head of Secretariat of the European Data Protection Board. The EDPB Secretariat drafts EDPB documents, provides IT solutions to the EDPB, handles media relations, and organises EDPB meetings. Prior that, she was legal advisor at the Belgian DPA for 10 years, working on international data transfers and participating to the work of the WP29. In addition, she followed closely the negotiation of the GDPR, being detached at the EU Commission and after supporting the Belgian government at Council.She started her career as a researcher at the CRID (ICT law research centre – University of Namur).She has a master degree in law from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium) and a postgraduate degree in ICT law from the University of Namur.
