Jurriaan Parie (1994) is co-founder of NGO Algorithm Audit – a European knowledge platform for AI bias testing and normative AI standards. As a mathematician and data scientist, he actively contributes to the development of AI bias testing standards. As a AI expert part of CEN-CENELEC's JTC21, he realises technical standards alone are insufficient to realise responsible AI. At Algorithm Audit, he works on building case-based normative advice for ethical algorithms. By convening diverse and deliberative advice commissions, Algorithm Audit builds algoprudence: jurisprudence for algorithms. This decentralised and transparant way of decision-making fosters the collective learning process on responsible AI within democratic sight.
